Our Team

Our experienced design and development team is led by Ph.D. and Master's level experts in usability, learning theory, instructional design, and computer science.

Each Kaleidoscope product, whether custom or off-the-shelf, includes contributions from numerous members of our skilled team, including graphic artists; programmers; media and animation experts; video and audio producers, directors, and editors; quality assurance analysts, project managers; scriptwriters; and technical writers.

David Guralnick's Biography
Dr. Guralnick's ability to bridge the worlds of technology and usability, and to make technology accessible to non-technical people have made him a leader in the field of e-learning for over  twenty years. His career has focused on designing and developing e-learning software and authoring tools to solve training and performance issues for a variety of clients, including Fortune 500 companies and non-profit organizations.

He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the Institute for the Learning Sciences at Northwestern University, where he created the first "content-focused" online-learning authoring tool as his dissertation work and also designed the first learn-by-doing-simulation for corporate training purposes. Dr. Guralnick's work has influenced e-learning design since the late 1980's. A summary of some of his key design work can be found here.

In addition to his work as president of Kaleidoscope, Dr. Guralnick  is a frequent keynote speaker at e-learning conferences and has been published in numerous industry journals and periodicals. He also serves as President of the International E-Learning Association (IELA); Chairman of the International Conference on E-Learning in the Workplace; Senior Editor of the International Journal on Advanced Corporate Learning; as a judge for the Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Awards; and as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University. His work has been featured in Wired magazine, Training magazine (as an Editor’s Choice), and the Wall Street Journal, and he is the recipient of numerous e-learning design awards.
